i've officially become one of those women who walk around under an umbrella; and its not raining here. the unforgiving sun finally got to me and i popped open my paris parasol today. and it honestly does make a difference. it didn't stop the profuse sweating, but hopefully its helping to prevent more skin cancer.
its been another low-key week as its too hot to go outside during the day. taking a shower is pointless and futile. i've decided to smell like a homeless person and grow dreadlocks. i went out this afternoon to buy butter (thinking of you, renee), and hit the bank and the liquor store (two very important missions). the whole trip took about 25 minutes and when i got back to the apartment, i discovered sweat marks on my rear. i'm sure people on the street thought i had wet my pants. the picture of middle-east tricia is just getting better and better, huh.
saturday, jeff and i wandered over to '3rd avenue' at the sheraton to partake in an afternoon cocktail and a cigar. then we walked to abela's (the new grocery store (with pork!) i discovered - this is all very exciting, isn't it). here's a sample of what they sell:
on father's day, we had dinner at prego at the beach rotana with nick, jeff's former boss (who is my all-time favorite irishman and who i discovered has the same birthday as me). nick and i are kindred souls in that we both have a fondness for wine of every color.
my own personal zumba craze continues and i think i'm actually starting to see results. the roll of fat around my mid-section is now the size of a large innertube instead of a mack-truck tire.
on the home front, audrey, my lovely, very young (21) daughter is getting married (yikes!). i first got married when i was 19 (which was short-lived -- the marriage and the age), but i'm hopeful and confident that my child is going to be a beautiful, happy bride.
2 weeks and 3 days until dublin departure! looking forward to cooler climes and maybe some water falling from the sky.
xoxoxo

You asked for it! Now with more sauce! (I don't think anyone's asking for that here, but that may describe me these days.)
I long for my Zumba days at the YMCA when I didn't have to hang out with my dipdong kids on Friday mornings until their stupid camps start around the brunchish hour. Can't wait to shop for a mother-of-the-bride dress! xoxo
love that comment. more sauce. i think i'm going to use that about me -- its tricia with extra cheese!
