yesterday, it was a steamy 90 degrees with crazy storms and scary tornado sirens; today its freezing. mother nature needs to make up her mind and stop with the wacky temp swings.
the non-stop texas shindigs continued with a surprise party for joost's 45th birthday last night at local dive 'lee harvey's'. my camera was taking a vacation of its own, so again, i don't have pictures (yet). joost is from the netherlands and has been known to mow the lawn in his clogs. he is also psycho in that he has run 4 white rock marathons (there are cars that drive that far, you know).
in recent weeks, i've dropped my iphone approximately 4 times. dropping your iphone is not good for the health of the device and will render it permanently mute. after it crashed to the floor in the security line at dfw airport on monday, it decided that it would never ring again. this morning, i thought i'd take this slippery piece of crap to the apple store and pretend ignorance as to how it ceased to function. james, the apple genius, is my new best friend cause he gave me a shiny new iphone and got me in and out of the house of steve jobs in under 5 minutes. shiny, happy and most importantly - noisy - new iphone (with a protective cover for morons like me). yea! i feel complete now; i can check my email every 36 seconds.
i kept the rest of the day low-key by invading heidi and richard's house, becoming one with their couch and consuming most everything in their refrigerator.
tomorrow the marathon social engagements continue and i promise to take pictures of every single fascinating moment.
this just in: osama bin laden is dead - really. at least that's what all the tv stations are reporting. so, everyone forget about the commander in chief's phony birth certificate. this is a much bigger story. wag the dog obama; wag that dog.
i need to go to bed; i've completely bored myself to sleep.
sloppy, steamy, rainy, drippy hugs,
tricia
